The Future of learning is coming to York Region.

Students who live in York Region will soon be able to study close by. Construction is well underway for York University’s long-awaited Markham Campus. The campus will open in Spring 2024.

The new campus will embed York University in the heart of Markham, one of the most diverse and dynamic cities in Canada. It’s an ideal home for a community of positive changemakers, with opportunities for students and faculty to collaborate directly with employers, startups and community partners to right the future. Markham is also home to YSpace Markham and the IBM Innovation Space — Markham Convergence Centre.

Physically, Markham Campus will accommodate 4,200 students and is being designed to facilitate collaboration between programs and faculties. This will promote unexpected connections, bringing people together to create positive change.

Lassonde School of Engineering

Lassonde School of Engineering is empowering the next generation of creators to push the world forward. From software developers, cybersecurity specialists and data scientists to engineers across a multitude of sectors, Lassonde alumni are making a tremendous positive impact.

An extraordinary first for Canada - Integrated Program: Digital Technologies

The Lassonde School of Engineering at York University is launching a new Bachelor of Applied Science in Digital Technologies (BASc) program in which learners will work in a full-time job and study at the same time.

The Blockchain Hub is the first of its kind in Canada and has a community of 1,000 Blockchain adepts. It is the first institution to offer a certified Ethereum development program.Students in this Markham Campus program will be immersed in the workplace, where they will earn a salary and relevant experience to bolster their in-class, theoretical learning.

YSpace is home to a suite of virtual programs that support startups from ideation to scaling in two key industries: technology and consumer packaged goods. YSpace Markham is a physical incubator space located in York Region to support market-ready ventures.
